NTT Training

Understand instrumentation and process control to become more valuable as your multi-skill set expands. You’ll spend approximately 50% of the time working with various instruments and controllers. You will learn to program and connect input/output devices, as well as how to troubleshoot process controls including sensors, transmitters, controllers, and final elements. The benefit of this training program is being able to find, understand, and fix electrical problems more easily, thereby reducing down time.

NTT Training

Participants learn how the PLC is integrated with operator interfaces (OIs), human machine interfaces (HMIs), and network I/O systems.

More than 60% of class time is hands-on programming, uploading and downloading exercises to and from the PLC. The program thoroughly examines PLC architecture, including input and output systems, ladder logic vs. relay logic, relay instructions, the role of timer delays, number systems, and the sizing and selection of PLCs. Troubleshooting elements cover installation precautions, wiring requirements, debugging and diagnostic tools.

NTT Training

Focus on the fundamentals of PLCs from setting up communications to uploading and downloading programs to troubleshooting and modifying the system. Spend 65% of the class time on various PLCs working on hands-on exercises. Working in small groups, learn to program, connect input/output devices and solve elementary and complex problems.

Program a PLC to provide real-time, interactive, diagnostics that pinpoints the issues. Use other troubleshooting methods such as the search function, cross references, histograms and forces.

Receive a copy of LogixPro PLC simulation software to practice programming, running and troubleshooting ladder logic on any computer. It includes programming examples and animated industrial simulations.

Siemens has very different programming and functioning from other PLCs. Focus on the fundamentals of Siemens S7-300 PLC from setting up communications to programming, uploading and downloading programs to troubleshooting and modifying the system.

Participants will spend 80% of their time engaged in hands-on learning during this training. Using a computer and an actual Siemens PLC, you will run the Simatic Step 7 software to configure, program and troubleshoot ladder and faults to solve elementary and complex problems.

Many industrial facilities rely on Rockwell ControlLogix and CompactLogix systems, yet maintenance and operations teams often lack enough personnel who can confidently connect in Studio 5000, interpret live logic and tag conditions, and troubleshoot faults without relying on guesswork or unnecessary component replacement. This course addresses that gap by teaching technicians how to observe what the controller is “seeing,” verify system conditions, and isolate root cause across logic, I/O, communications, and controller state.

The updated program aligns to modern plant environments by using Studio 5000 Logix Designer and current workflows, emphasizing a technician-focused learning progression (hardware → communications → I/O → logic → execution → troubleshooting). Hands-on practice is integrated throughout the week using ControlLogix training hardware, including digital and analog I/O and simulated system faults, reinforcing consistent troubleshooting habits and safer controller interaction.

Optimize your process with proper setting and tuning of DDC or control loops to increase quality consistency. Learn the process characteristics that become the basis for tuning the DDC or process controller.Practice different tuning methods to ensure accurate control. Gain an understanding of the functions of proportional band, integral and derivative process in a 3-mode or DDC controller. Using computer simulation software in a “safe-to-experiment”environment and gain experience in efficient control loop tuning.

In this variable frequency drive (VFD) training, participants learn proper design recommendations to ensure that your equipment is as energy efficient and safe as possible. Discover the best practices for frequency drives in HVAC, pumping, and facility applications. Whether you’re in facility maintenance, chilled water systems, waste water systems, or manufacturing, our variable frequency drive basics training program unlocks the secrets of VFDs to maintain your equipment.

In the hands-on lab portion you will use scopemeters to see how improper designs can lead to motor deterioration and other problems. You will program and troubleshoot newly upgraded equipment that includes Allen-Bradley Powerflex4 and ABB ACS-350 variable frequency flux vector drives. Learn to manipulate external drive control wiring. Gain troubleshooting skills by deciphering fault diagnostics and correcting problems.
