Why You should take this training program
NTT’s Electrical Safety: Practical Skills for Switchgear training helps qualified electrical workers, operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel apply safe work practices when interacting with low- and medium-voltage switchgear systems. This course addresses practical risks associated with breaker operation, racking, switching procedures, shock and arc flash exposure, and temporary protective grounding.
Switchgear tasks can expose workers to serious hazards when they do not fully understand the equipment, operating positions, racking process, interlocks, required PPE, boundaries, or grounding procedures.
The program supports safer and more consistent task execution by reinforcing shock and arc flash risk assessment, safe switching practices, remote operation or racking methods when applicable, and maintenance. It is aligned with OSHA 1910.269, NFPA 70E®, NFPA 70B, and applicable industry guidance.
Participants gain practical experience using NTT switchgear and circuit breaker training equipment while working through the flow of real switchgear tasks: developing a job safety plan, selecting and inspecting PPE, establishing boundaries, operating and racking breakers, inspecting breaker and cubicle components, testing for absence of voltage, and installing and removing temporary protective grounds.
