This group of modules meticulously examines the importance of and procedures required to insure workplace safety. Each module in this competency group builds on the one before it, giving you confidence as you develop your knowledge in a way that is logical and intuitive.

This module outlines the job hazard analysis process. Upon completion, you will be able to understand each step of an OSHA inspection, different types of citations and penalties, where to find additional safety information, and how to prevent workplace violence and spot substance abuse issues (Estimated completion time: 1.6 hours).

Help! What to do in an Emergency

Upon completion of this module, you will be able to develop and emergency action plan, know where to find first aid training, and how to control your exposure to pathogens (Estimated completion time: 1.2 hours).

Personal Protective Equipment Safety

Personal Protective Equipment

Upon completion of this module, you will be able to identify different types of personal protective equipment and conduct a hazard assessment (Estimated completion time: 1.5 hours).

Eye and Face Protection

In this module you will review many hazards in the workplace, such as flying shards, chemicals, and bright light. Upon completion of this module, you will be able to recognize these hazards, list common types of protection, and understand employer responsibilities (Estimated completion time: 1 hour).

Head Protection

Upon completion of this module, you will be able to identify types of hazards and understand how to protect your head (Estimated completion time: 0.9 hours).

Foot and Leg Protection

In this module you will review foot hazards, safety guidelines, and specialized shoes designed to protect the feet (Estimated completion time: 0.9 hours).

Hand and Arm Protection

This module outlines workplace hazards, work practice controls, and the need for employees to wear PPE (Estimated completion time: 1.1 hours).

Body Protection

Powered Industrial Trucks
